🥩 Steak
Steakbabes headed to a new addition to Port Melbourne that has been needed! We visited @the.gilroy on Bay Street, which was gorgeous. The Gilroy has a range of butcher cup options on the menu including a cape grim eye fillet. We chose from the butchers cut options & landed on the 800g @capegrimbeef Rib Eye. They also had a 1KG Tomahawk on offer too. The 800g Rib Eye was cooked perfectly with a lovely steak flavour. All in all, this steak made us very happy.

🔪 Sauce & Sides
It’s hard to know where to start. We had some incredible entree’s starting with, Morton Bay bugs which are topped with garlic & chilli. A lovely fresh fish, cubed, on a bed of lettuce with mothers’ milk & a citrus sauce, this was unbelievable. We had a go at the kingfish crudo & the anchovy toast too, which H absolutely loved. There are 3 sauce options on offer with the steak, red wine jus, creamy pepper or bearnaise. H’s personal fav was the peppercorn; Mads was the jus. We also were treated to some of the best chippies we’ve had & the freshest salad we’ve had. H also indulged in the mac & cheese which was unbelievable and worth the cals.

🔥Vibe
If you’re after a perfect date night spot or somewhere to de-brief with the girls with a vino in hand, @the.gilroy is the perfect spot. We were greeted so warmly by the team & we felt so comfortable here, we did not want to leave. Everything about this place was unreal!

🍷 Vino
We were lucky enough to be treated to a glass of champagne when we arrived, this was glorious. We truly appreciated that 99% of the glasses of vino were $15, H chose a glass of Sangiovese & Mads chose the rose also for $15, however Shane brought out a grenache, this could have been the best glass of grenache we’ve ever had.

💰Value
We personally think the steak is worth the price, when you eat something that is so high in quality & cooked to perfection, we’re happy to spend the dollars. The sides make an honourable mention as they make the meal feel full.
