🥩 Steak - 4.4/5
We headed back to Mornington for round two at The Bay Hotel. We had been here almost 2 years ago & wanted to try it again. Their steak night is still on a Tuesday offering a 250g Porterhouse Grass fed beauty for $34. This includes chippies, sauce & sides. The steak was a quality piece of meat, and it was cooked just the way you'd like juicy & pink. We really enjoyed it.

🔪 Sauce & Sides – 4.2/5
We started our meal with scallops on mushy peas & mint, a very interesting combo but really enjoyable! H had oysters, which she loved, we also shared the haloumi with pistachio, this was another interesting combo but, it worked. With your steak, you can get chippies, salad or veggies & mash, so we tried it all plus you get a sauce option, we had the peppercorn cream, garlic butter & red wine jus. All of the sides were great, however, the salad didn't hit the spot, the chippies were unreal & we loved the garlic butter & red wine jus.

🍷 Vino – 4.2/5
The vino list is full of some great options with different wines ranging in price range, which is nice to see! H went for the Piazzo Langhe for $19 by the Coravian, which is a lovely way to preserve the wine and enjoy by the glass. H enjoyed it, it did take a bit of time to aerate before she could taste all of the flavours. Mads went for the Château Minuty rose for $16 a glass, nice dry rose, it was a lovely drop.

🔥 Vibe – 4/5
We couldn't believe it, we were sitting in the same spot as we did the first time we visited The Bay Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly & answered all of our questions while being super attentive. We love the decor & the vibe, it is a very comfortable space with plenty of options to choose to dine.

💰 Value – 4/5
We love a sauce choice, we love the generous portions & the quality of everything was great. We do think that $34 is pushing on the edge of potentially being too much for a steak night but we would still recommend this as a solid spot for a gorgeous meal.
