🥩Steak – 3.1/5
We headed back to @therochey in Fitzroy for their $22 Steak night every Thursday. We visited The Rochey back in 2023 & we could not believe that the steak night was still a bargain at $22. On offer, is a 250g Porterhouse with chippies, salad & ample sauces. The steak was cooked beautifully to medium - rare, but was a little tough & had a strong flavour of charcoal, which isn’t our favourite but that’s just our personal preference.

The steak night offering comes with gravy on your steak, a mushroom peppercorn on the side & a salsa verde on top of the steak too. Now, we loved the gravy, it had a lovely flavour & was great with the chippies, the mushroom peppercorn was an interesting combo and the salsa verde wasn’t our personal favourite. We could see how some would love this though! Chippies were fantastic & the salad was so zesty we ended up calling the salad a zalad. We also had to try one of their variations of chips which was the locked & loaded fries. These are absolutely worth trying, they were a highlight for us. We also indulged in the Arancini balls to start & they were lovely!

We felt incredibly cosy sitting inside with the lovely dim lighting & multiple fireplaces. This is certainly a spot to come and have a fantastic vino with your friends & enjoy a solid meal - not to mention also dog friendly. Special shout out to Felix for looking after us so well during our meal.

🍷Vino– 4/5
On offer with the steak night, you can score an $8 glass of house vino, H tried the Sangiovese & Mads the Rose. Both of these were really enjoyable & you could easily settle in for the night with these drops.

💰Value– 3.6/5
We haven’t seen a solid $22 steak night in Melbourne for a while & this will definitely have you leaving with a full belly. Plus, for an $8 glass of Vino, a meal & vino for $30, is unheard of. We think The Rochey is for sure worth checking out for their Thursday Steak Night!
