🥩Steak –3/5
Every Wednesday you can find a $25 Steak Night at the Railway Wine Bar in Highett. On offer, you will receive a 250g Porterhouse with salad, chippies & Béarnaise sauce. Now, the steak had a lovely flavour, we really enjoyed the flavour, sadly the steaks were inconsistently cooked. There were parts of the steak cooked beautifully medium rare, other parts were more overdone which made it quite tough.

🔪Sauce & Sides – 3.2/5
We started with the Salt & Pepper Calamari, which was absolutely lovely. With your Porterhouse, you receive gorgeous fluffy chippies, a lovely light & fresh salad & Béarnaise sauce. We really enjoyed the chippies & salad, the sauce to us, felt more like a Hollandaise than Béarnaise which threw us off a bit. We know we bang on about it, but we would have loved a sauce choice.

🔥Vibe – 3/5
Railway Wine Bar is quite a new venue and the fitout & interiors were absolutely gorgeous. The lighting is beautifully lit & moody, with a lovely beer garden which we can see in Summer, being a hot spot! We see so much potential in this venue.

🍷Vino – 3/5
In addition to their steak night offering, Railway Wine Bar offers a $10 glass of vino between a Prosecco, Pinot Noir or Shiraz & we both chose the Shiraz. We thought it was a nice glass of wine, not our fav, not our least fav but for $10, we were content!

💰Value – 3/5
For $25 for a steak night, you’ll leave with a nice full belly & a glass of vino for $10, which will make you very happy. Overall, we do see some refinement to make the steak night spectacular, like nailing the steak or a sauce choice.
