🥩Steak –5/5
The first steak review of 2026, we were hoping for something good & by going to Bistro X, we got what we wanted and more. On a Tuesday Night, you'll be treated to their $35 Steak Night which includes a 250g Wagyu Rump with Peppercorn Sauce, Salad & Chippies. We were also treated to the $70 David Blackmore Wagyu Denver Steak on their daily menu, also served with Peppercorn. We have to mention that the David Blackmore cows are heritage range of 8-10 years old & the steak becomes more textural by age. Both steaks were gorgeous, cooked beautifully & had so much individual flavour. We really appreciated how different these steaks were, but how lovely they both were in their individual ways.

🔪Sauce & Sides – 4.8/5
We started our meal with the prawn cocktail, which had a twist on the regular, it was a lovely for H the "prawn connoisseur" & Mads the new prawn lover. We also tried the Potato Rosti with Tuna & this was so crispy & full of flavour, we loved it so much. On offer with the steak night was a glorious salad, the most perfectly cooked & seasoned chippies and peppercorn sauce, which we rated so highly! Great portion sizes too.

5 Stars Baby - This isn't your typical hotel restaurant, this is elevated, yet cosy. Staff were so friendly, they looked after us incredibly well. We were treated to going to the rooftop bar area, which has one of the loveliest views of Melbourne we've seen

🍷Vino – 4.2/5
H had a mocktail, the Mean Mac, which tasted more like soda with mint than a mocktail, however, was still very refreshing. Mads had the Spinifex Mataro, Grenache Rose, it was glorious, easy to drink for $17 per glass.

💰Value – 4.7/5
For a 5-star steak, there isn't much we would change. The only thing we would appreciate would be a sauce choice, even though we loved the sauce, we love a choice plus a glass of vino for a better price would be great.
