Steakbabes Turns 2

What started as a simple idea to review steak nights around Melbourne has grown into something we never imagined. On Saturday 31st May, we celebrated two incredible years of Steakbabes with our community at Frontside Food & Wine Bar in Port Melbourne – and honestly, it exceeded every expectation.

Okay, how it went down

Well firstly, we got the legendary James Cornwall involved – known for his unreal steak nights at Bonny in Fitzroy and Young Hearts in Windsor. Being a cocktail party that was a step up from our usual events, we wanted to blend that same comfort level a good steak night or pub delivers, but elevate it for the occasion. James curated an unbelievable menu – legit no boring cocktail food. We hit the night with cheeseburgers, steak slices on hashbrowns, right through to our very large custom 02 beef tartare "Birthday Cake".

Let’s talk VIBES

We kept everyone entertained with not one, but two DJs, and our live t-shirt printing station by Full Cowboy. Each tee came with a pre-printed back, and guests could completely customise the front with any of the seven designs created by Heaps Good. Our guests could choose one design or mix and match multiple ones – every tee was completely unique to them. This interactive experience was exactly what we wanted to set the vibes, and it was genuinely so wholesome and fun watching everyone make their own tees.

Winner Winner

Our raffle prizes were a hit, featuring jars of beef tallow from our friend Steaklad plus other goodies including wine from Millon Wines, Carlton Draught beers, Pirate Life Ale, Bobby Soda, plus our original Stay Saucy embroidery butter tee and more. Seeing everyone's excitement over quality products that align with our values reminded us why partnerships matter in building something authentic.

Sponsors & Partners that just rock

None of this would have been possible without our amazing sponsors who brought their A-game. Coe&Coe helped us pull the entire event together as gracious hosts at Frontside Food & Wine, Millon Wines provided seriously delicious vino, while Bobby Soft Drink, Pirate Life, and Carlton kept everyone refreshed. Wilhelm Photography captured every magical moment, ensuring we'll never forget this incredible night.

Our Steakbabe friend Anita was fantastic on the door, greeting everyone with that warm energy that sets the tone for the whole evening. DJs Dylan & Owen kept the vibes pumping throughout the night and Natasha worked her magic on our makeup beforehand, making sure we looked as good as we felt celebrating this milestone.

What's Next?

Seeing our community come together, watching new friendships form, and feeling the genuine excitement for what we're building reminded us that Steakbabes has become more than steak night reviews – it's become our life, our lifestyle, sharing food, meeting new people and creating experiences people love.

Year three is going to be our most exciting yet. Stay tuned for more pop-ups, events, and the official launch of the Saucy Club tee.
