🥩 Steak - 2/5
On offer at The Last Piece Eatery is a 250g Porterhouse for $27, or the option to upgrade to a Scotch for $37. We had to try both, so ordered one of each. Mads had the porterhouse and H went for the scotch. Both steaks were cooked beautifully. However, they didn't deliver on the flavour mark, and the texture of the quality wasn't on par with other steak nights we have experienced.
🔪Sauce & Sides - 2/5
The steaks were served with chips, salad and a choice of sauce. Mads opted for the red wine jus (per usual), which was one of her highlights for the night. H tried the garlic sauce, which is the same sauce they used for the surf n turf. It wasn't her favourite this time around as it lacked in flavour. The chips needed more salt, and the salad was simple.
🔥Vibe - 3.2/5
The venue is located at Waverley Park, home to the legendary AFL's Hawks. Along the strip of shops benched against the oval, you will find the two-story eatery, The Last Piece. Featuring upstairs function spaces, downstairs dining, and a small courtyard out the front. It was pumping when we arrived & fully booked. It was great to see it was a local favourite, and staff were super accomodating & lovely.
🍷Vino - 3.8/5
The vino was very enjoyable, we both went for the Shiraz at $14 per glass which was delicious. They also had several other red wines available by the glass starting from $11 - making it unreal value of vino to select from.
💰Value - 2.5/5
All in all, both of the steaks could have been delivered better in terms of value for $27 & $37, as we had expected from comparable steak nights that just hit the spot. Making the overall value average.
