🥩Steak – 4/5
We love a steak night that offers options! The epic steak night at Sir Henry Barkly Hotel offers 3 choices which includes either a 250g or 350g Porterhouse to suit how much steak you feel like devouring, and a 250g Scotch Fillet - all grass fed & served with chippies, salad & chimichurri. We both went for the 250g Porterhouse which was full of flavour, but not overpowering at the same time. The steak was ever so slightly overdone for our liking however, the flavour was certainly there to make up for.
🔪Sauce & Sides – 4.3/5
We have to admit, we didn’t realise this steak night came with their house sauce, chimichurri, so we ordered additional sauces & we ended up with more sauce than we knew what to do with! H was in her element with a punchy thai life peppercorn sauce & a beautifully creamy Garlic Butter. Mads saw Truffle butter on the menu and couldn’t pass that up & it did not disappoint. The truffle butter was dreamy stuff. The chimichurri has lots of coriander so if you’re like Mads & you’ve been cursed with coriander tasting of soap, you won’t enjoy this one. The chippies were everything you want in a chippie. Crunchy, fluffy, salty, overall delish. The salad has a strong zesty flavour but still enjoyable.
🔥Vibe – 4/5
Firstly, this venue is huge! They have a bistro, which serves more of a family friendly vibe & separate beer garden dining area. We enjoyed the vibes in the Beer Garden, it was cosy, we were near the beautiful fireplace, and we were very comfortable here. We could picture ourselves coming here on a Saturday arvo for a Vino & to watch the footy on the big screens. The staff were unreal, they were all so friendly & helpful. They made the entire experience a great one. We can’t wait to go back!

Nice big list of vino, including chilled reds. H tried the $9 glass of Merlot & Mads couldn’t go past the $12.50 Pepperjack Shiraz. Both glorious & at a great price point! Don’t forget Happy Hour Monday – Friday 4-6PM for $7 Merlot, Chardonnay & Sparkling
💰Value – 4.1/5
As we said, we love options for a steak night. The price point starts at $26 for the 250g Porterhouse and up to $38 for the 300g Scotch Fillet. They are served with chips, salad & the default sauce but it’s worth mentioning, if you want to change your sauce it is $2 per sauce, which we have realised is very common. Even though we just missed Happy Hour, the Vino is still at a great price point. Overall for a beautiful grass fed steak & great sides, we were very happy with the value.
