🥩Steak
The Meat & Wine Co launched their AGED Menu which featured options from The Southern Range in Gippsland Victoria. The choices on this menu are all MG4+ at a minimum. Steakbabes decided to share a 750g dry aged rib eye. We were so excited when we found out the steak was prepared in a truffle butter, but unfortunately that flavour didn’t shine through. The steak was cooked nicely but we wanted more of a flavour punch.

🔪Sauce & Sides
As expected from a more premium venue, sauce and sides are at an additional cost. We opted for a basic salad, roast potatoes and the choice of garlic sauce & peppercorn sauce. The peppercorn sauce was definitely the winner, if you like a really flavoursome garlic sauce, this isn’t the place for it. The potatoes were super crunchy though, we’d order these again.

🔥Vibe
The venue itself is gorgeous, super cosy, dim lighting with seperate dining room options for a more intimate vibe. We were the loudest people there… surprise surprise, but the crowd was definitely on the more reserved and quiet side. Shout out to the staff, they were really helpful & accommodating especially with the millions of questions we asked.

🍷Vino
 In true Steakbabes style we tried 4 wines before deciding on a winner. We couldn’t believe that the winner for us was their house red at $13. It was a true highlight of the night.

💰Value
 We’re always honest & the value here could improve. Of course we know you pay additional for sauce & sides and if they were at the level we’ve experienced before, that wouldn’t be an issue. The steak itself was pricey, and we had very high hopes for the truffle infused butter flavour & sadly it didn’t hit the mark for us.

The Meat & Wine Co do offer an Express Lunch Menu available Monday-Friday 12pm-45pm. They offer a one course, two, or three course options. One of the main selection options is their 250g Rump. Please check with the venue directly prior to booking to confirm.
